A very short post about a city where I moved to find a job. I spent 10 days there in a camping place to save some money, first time I unpacked my tent and camping material. My first night was terrible since there was a really really heavy rain the whole time. Fortunately, no water came in the tent, but the rain made the air cold and of course it is noisy too. On the next morning, the city center was a bit flooded. But the camping place was so far from the center that it did not affect us, a long walk every day to go there.
Blenheim is the capitale of the Marlborough region, which is on the North East of the South Island. It is very famous for its vineyard and is also the sunniest region of NZ. After 10 days there, struggling to find a job and still having a few mini Earthquakes, I moved to Havelock, because a work agency found me a job in Havelock, which is much nicer place. Most of the people employed by the agency work in Havelock and live in Blenheim, so they have to travel every day, but no need to say that I was happy to pack everything back and leave Blenheim as soon as possible.

Un article très rapide sur Blenheim, une ville où je suis allée dans l'espoir d'y trouver un travail. J'ai passé 10 jours dans un camping, histoire de limiter les dépenses. Première fois que je déballais la tente et le matériel de camping donc... La première nuit fût vraiment horrible à cause de la pluie, violente et continue, qui battait violemment et bruyamment la toile de la tente. Par ailleurs, il faisait super froid. Heureusement, la tente n'a ni bougé ni laissé rentrer l'eau. Le lendemain, le centre-ville était un peu inondé car la rivière était sortie de son lit, mais le camping étant loin du centre-ville, nous n'avons pas eu de problème. Le camping était d'ailleurs trop loin du centre-ville, dans une zone industrielle particulièrement moche, il fallait marcher pendant un loooooong moment avant de rejoindre le centre-ville.
Blenheim est la capitale de la région Marlborough, dans le Nord-Est de l'île du Sud. La région y est célèbre pour son vin et ses vastes vignobles, et c'est aussi la région la plus ensoleillée de NZ. Mais impossible d'accrocher... après 10 jours sur place, jouant de malchance dans la recherche d'emploi et ressentant encore des réplique du gros tremblement de terre du 13 novembre, je déménageai pour Havelock, car une agence de recrutement m'y avait trouvé un travail. Le village est certes minuscule, mais beaucoup plus sympathique. La plupart des gens employés par cette agence travaillent à Havelock et vivent à Blenheim, devant donc voyagé tous les jours entre les deux villes.
