Ayutthaya

Oh la la... not even one week in Thailande and I have lived/felt/experienced so many things that I could write a book already! Not sure how I will make this blog...
The first 2 days have been difficult because I needed to adapt myself to this new world. Forget all what you know and reset your mind, Asia is a COMPLETE different universe!!!

After 2 days in Bangkok, I was happy to leave to Ayutthaya (not sure I like Bangkok). Ayutthaya is 75 km away from Bangkok. It was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and became capitale of the Kingdom. But it was plundered by the Birman armees in the 16th century and destroyed 2 centuries later.

Today, the city is full of History through all the ruins which made the city so unique. Many sites belong now to the UNESCO heritage. Here below a few I had the chance to visit, after I managed to oriente myself which is not always easy....

On the first day I visited the most important sites by walking and on the second day, I rented a (destroyed but good) bicycle for 50bht the day (1.10€)! It was fun since people here drive on the left side... and also because I was looking for a site without success... so a Thai lady just took me on her scooter and brought me there :) It is also easy to meet lovely travellers from around the world!
Two great days in a great city... a must see!!!

Now I have arrived by the night train to Chiang Mai, lets see what the city has to offer :)

Oulà... même pas 1 semaine après être arrivée en Thailande, j'ai déjà vécu tellement de choses que je pourrais presque écrire un livre! Du coup, je ne sais pas trop comment tenir ce blog...
Les 2 premiers jours ont été difficiles parce que je ne m'étais pas encore adaptée à ce nouveau monde. Oubliez tout ce que vous savez et remettez votre esprit a zéro, l'Asie est un univers COMPLETEMENT différent!!!

Après 2 jours a Bangkok, j'étais contente de partir pour Ayutthaya (pas sûre d'aimer Bangkok). Ayutthaya est située à 75km de Bangkok. La ville fut fondée par le roi U-Thong en l'an 1350 et devint capitale du Royaume. Mais elle fut rapidement pillée au 16e siècle par les armées Birmanes et détruite 2 siècles plus tard.

Aujourd'hui, la ville est chargée d'Histoire à travers les ruines qui la rendent si unique. De nombreux sites appartiennent maintenant au patrimoine mondiale de l'UNESCO. Ci-dessous quelques uns que j'ai eu la chance de visiter, après avoir réussi à m'orienter ici, ce qui n'est pas chose aisée...

Le premier jour, j'ai visité les sites les plus importants à pied, et le 2e jour, j'ai loué un vélo pour 50bht la journée (1.10€). C'etait rigolo car les gens ici roulent à gauche. Et aussi parce que je ne trouvai pas un des sites, j'ai alors demandé à une locale qui m'a gentiment amené sur son scooter :) Il est aussi facile de rencontrer des voyageurs sympas du monde entier!
Deux supers journées dans une super ville... à voir absolument!!!!

Aujourd'hui, je viens d'arriver à Chiang Mai par le train de nuit: voyons voir ce que la ville a à offrir :)
