Doi Suthep

Wat Phratat Doi Suthep is a buddhist temple located at around 13km from Chiang Mai. Doi Suthep is actually the name of the montain where the temple is located. Despite all the tourists, it is a very holy place, located at over 1500m of altitude (Pictures 1 to 7)

Wat Phratat Doi Suthep est un temple bouddhiste situé à environ 13km de Chiang Mai. Doi Suthep est en fait le nom de la montagne sur laquelle le temple se dresse. Malgré un nombre important de touristes, c'est un endroit sacré, qui s'élève à plus de 1500m d'altitude (photos 1 à 7)

Doi Inthanon

The natural parc of Dhoi Inthanon is very beautiful. It has the highest summit of Thailand (over 2500m), several little villages and a few waterfalls.
The summit has been recalled Doi Inthanon in memory of Phra Chao Inthawichayanon, 7th King of Chiang Mai region. The king loved the nature and forests and requested his bones to be brought to the summit after his death. Which his daughter did.
In Doi Inthanon are also 2 big pagodas: the Queen's and King's pagodas, facing each other and surrounded by beautiful gardens (pictures 8 till end)

Le parc naturel de Doi Inthanon est superbe. On y trouve le plus haut sommet de Thailande (qui culmine à plus de 2500m d'altitude), de nombreux petits villages et quelques cascades.
Le sommet a été rebaptisé Doi Inthanon en honneur de Phra Chao Inthawichayanon, septième roi de la province de Chiang Mai. Le roi aimait la nature et les forêts et demanda que ses os furent apportés en haut du sommet après sa mort. Un souhait qu'éxecuta sa fille.
A Doi Inthanon se trouvent également 2 pagodes: celles du Roi et de la Reine. Les 2 pagodes se font face et sont chacunes entourées de riches jardins (photos 8 à fin)
